Cookie policy
This page explains which cookies are used in the Fronterak service, for what purposes, and how you can manage your cookie settings. This cookie policy complements our privacy policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that the web browser saves on your device at the website's request. Cookies are used, among other things, to maintain login state, personalise the user experience and gather usage statistics.
We use the term "cookies" as a general name for similar browser technologies as well, such as localStorage and sessionStorage values, pixel tags and local SDK identifiers.
2. Types of cookies we use
We use three main groups of cookies:
- Essential cookies: required for the service to function (e.g. login state, form state retention, remembering the cookie consent). These cannot be disabled without losing access to the service.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how users use the service so we can improve it. Collected anonymously and only with your consent.
- Marketing cookies: used to display targeted advertising and measure campaign effectiveness. Used only with your consent.
3. Individual cookies we use
Below is a summary of the cookies we primarily use. The exact list may be updated as the service evolves.
- fronterak_session — essential, maintains login state, duration: session
- fronterak_cookie_consent — essential, cookie consent, duration: 12 months
- fronterak_locale — essential, selected language, duration: 12 months
- sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token — essential, Supabase authentication, duration: 7 days
- _ga, _ga_* — analytics (Google Analytics 4), duration: 24 months, only with consent
- _fbp — marketing (Meta Pixel), duration: 90 days, only with consent
4. Third-party cookies
We use some third-party services that may set their own cookies once enabled:
- Google Analytics (analytics, Google LLC, United States)
- Meta Pixel (marketing, Meta Platforms Inc., United States)
- Vercel Analytics (performance measurement, Vercel Inc., United States / EU edge)
5. Managing cookie consent
On your first visit we ask for cookie consent via the cookie banner. You can accept all cookies, accept only essential cookies or customise your choices by category.
You can change your choices at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the service. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, which will bring the cookie banner back up.
6. Legal basis for cookie consent
Essential cookies are based on our legitimate interest in providing a functioning service (Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services, Section 205). Analytics and marketing cookies are always based on your explicit consent (GDPR 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
